Local businesses in Wales are producing some of the best produce in the world, an AM has said in the Assembly chamber.
The issue was raised in by Joyce Watson AM during questions to the Minister for the Economy.
Joyce Watson, Labour AM for Mid and West Wales, recently visited Rikki Lloyd’s butchers in Welshpool and took the opportunity to sample some of the award-winning produce on offer.
Joyce said, ‘I was delighted to meet Rikki and his staff at his butcher’s shop in Welshpool and was happy to see so many people supporting the local shop. Businesses like these can be the cornerstone of a community.
‘I took the opportunity to raise the matter with the Minister because it is important that local businesses, which promote local produce and create jobs in the community, are recognised for the role they play.’
