A local AM is encouraging local people to share their experiences of how older people are treated in hospital.
Labour Assembly Member for Mid and West Wales Joyce Watson AM said:
“Older people are the backbone of our society, yet sadly I hear far too many stories from them and from their families about poor treatment in hospital.
“Most NHS staff do an excellent job, but it is time these issues are addressed and older people are treated with the respect they deserve.
“I am delighted that The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales Ruth Marks has taken this issue so seriously, and I would urge all concerned to make their views known as part of her Review into whether older people are treated with dignity and respect whilst in hospital.”
