Commenting on the Chevron refinery accident, local Assembly Member Joyce Watson said:
“This accident has come as a shock to the people of Pembrokeshire.
“The Chevron refinery plays a huge role in our local economy, and many people will have personal connections to it.
“My thoughts and sympathies are with the families and the colleagues of those who lost their lives, and of the worker who is being treated for serious injuries.”
Mrs Watson, who lives in Haverfordwest, added:
“I must praise the work of our brave emergency service workers who attended the incident.
“I am keen to be updated on the investigation into the incident, to understand how this occurred and to be sure that any lessons will be learned.
“The investigation is at a very early stage but should matters arise which the Welsh Government can act on I will of course seek to raise those in the Assembly.”
