Labour Mid and West AM Joyce Watson attended a public meeting to discuss ongoing concerns about health provision in mid Wales.
More than 300 people assembled at Penweddig School on Friday evening (10 January) to debate problems in recruiting GPs and medical staff for Bronglais hospital. The meeting passed a motion of no confidence in Hywel Dda Health Board.
Speaking after the meeting, Mrs Watson said:
“People were understandably frustrated – they had serious questions about the future of their health service, I was deeply disappointed that no one from the health board turned up to answer them.
“The good news is that the health minister has ordered an independent review of health service in mid Wales. The views expressed at the meeting must guide that review. I will take that message back to the Assembly.”
