Local Assembly Member Joyce Watson congratulated Linda Grace on winning Radio Ceredigion’s 2017 Community Hero Award.
Former mayor of Cardigan and retired nurse Linda Grace won the Radio Ceredigion Award for her work to enhance life in the local community.
This included her work as Chair of the Jig-So Children’s Centre in Cardigan. The centre delivers support services to children and their families in Ceredigion, north Pembrokeshire and west Carmarthenshire, and recently celebrated its 25th birthday.
Mrs Watson has been a long-time supporter, regularly visiting the project, and working closely with Mrs Grace on this and a range of other campaigns to improve the wellbeing of local people.
Joyce Watson AM said:
“Linda Grace is a worthy winner of this community hero award.
“She and the Jig-So team are dedicated, caring and make a huge difference to people’s lives. She has worked tirelessly for years and this appreciation is well deserved.”
Commenting on Jig-So’s 25th anniversary, Mrs Watson said:
“Jig-So has now supported generations of children and their families for 25 years, and I believe that the commitment of Linda and so many staff and volunteers over the years will ensure a long and successful future.”
