A local AM is urging people in Pembrokeshire to vote for a veterans project to win National Lottery funding.
Haverfordwest’s VC Gallery are campaigning for public votes for their Inspire Us project to win up to £50,000 of funding through People’s Projects.
The funding would see the development of an intergenerational art group to provide creative support sessions for veterans and people with mental health conditions. This would boost community cohesion, self-confidence and employability skills.
Money would be used to develop the skills of volunteers to offer better, more targeted help as well as creating a sensory room for disabled people. Improving the service would also provide a boost to the regeneration of their local community.
Joyce Watson AM said:
“I will be voting for Inspire Us as I’ve seen the great work which this group is doing in Pembrokeshire – not just for veterans, but for the wider community.”
The People’s Projects is run by the Big Lottery fund with ITV Wales, to give people a real say in some of the inspirational projects which receive National Lottery funding.
Voting is open until 13 March, and you can vote online at https://www.thepeoplesprojects.org.uk/projects/view/inspire-us
